Get to Know Spring Creek

Spring Creek began as a family farm, primarily forested, and was acquired by an unidentified builder who secured a loan and obtained approval from the city of Springfield for the preliminary plat of Lakewood South on July 9, 1984. The builder initiated infrastructure improvements on the western portion but soon defaulted on the loan, leading to foreclosure. In 1985, Ron Stenger of Ron Stenger Developments purchased the property and resumed development in March 1985. The property was renamed Spring Creek, inspired by Thompson Creek, a spring-fed creek that flows along the neighborhood’s lower eastern boundary.

Vision and Community

Developers envisioned Spring Creek as a thoughtfully designed community that emphasizes open green spaces, well-appointed recreational facilities, and a mix of detached single-family homes and carefully integrated patio courts, all forming a harmonious and coordinated community unit. Their goal was to create a neighborhood that fosters a strong sense of community while ensuring the ongoing maintenance, improvement, and effective administration of shared spaces and resources. The vision prioritized preserving the inherent values, natural beauty, and high-quality amenities that make Spring Creek a distinctive and desirable place to live, ensuring its appeal and functionality for residents over the long term.

Spring Creek features all-brick single-family homes, built as single-level or multi-level basement residences with two- or three-car garages, well-maintained yards with mature trees and landscaping, illuminated brick mailboxes, and many with privacy fences and some with covered patio porches. The community offers abundant amenities, including recreational facilities with basketball courts, tennis courts, and newly added pickleball courts for friendly competition and fitness, plus one of the area’s largest neighborhood swimming pools, complete with a kiddie pool, covered patio court, lounge chairs, and tables for relaxing in the sun.

Property Owners Association

The Spring Creek Property Owners Association (POA) and its Board were established in 1984 with the start of the Spring Creek development, holding the exclusive responsibility for managing the community, enforcing, and administering its covenants and restrictions. Initially, in 1984, the Board comprised developers and investors who resided outside Spring Creek but had a vested interest in the neighborhood's prosperity.

Currently, the Spring Creek Board is made up of residents living within the community, bringing diverse talents that contribute to maintaining its beauty and safety. The board collaborates with the HOA Administration and Pool Manager to effectively oversee community operations.

We are always seeking new members who live in Spring Creek so if you live in Spring Creek and are interested in being a member of Spring Creek POA Board please email us at springcreekpoa@gmail.com.
